Really enjoyed this one. A couple personal preferences kept it from being a five star read (Lauren isn't super likable over time, but I think that's the point), but I did like the ending.

Confusing. Bored. Supernatural element is dumb and unnecessary. The worst CJ Tudor book out of three I've read.

No. I already hate the fmc. She breaks into a home to steal a ring, gets caught immediately, and instead of trying to out maneuver or think her way out of the situation, she immediately tries boxing the man with a clear weight, speed, and experience advantage. Dumbass.

The writing style is also very juvenile/young adult, despite the language/sex content. Very mid.

The first third was great, but after they became vampires it was all killing and butchering random people they come across that it was deeply less fun and I wanted them both to die, so.

The love interest, Henry, is also lame, underwritten, and instalove. He tells Sloane he finds her fascinating, and both Sloane and myself went, what?? Why!? She's so dull!

DNF, which is a shame because I thought the writing was wonderful, just the right side of descriptive/beautiful.

But the story is boring. It might be the POV... I wonder if Sylvia had been the MC instead, would I have enjoyed it more. Lorelei is not grumpy, she's mean. To everybody. And its very tiresome. Grumpy is my fave type of love interest to ship, but Lorelei just isn't working for me at all.

I struggled with whether I should push on or not, but other reviews are telling me the author uses time jumps to skip past character and romantic developments, which is lazy writing, so I'll give a different book of hers a shot instead.
