wow. just wow

Hanya wrote this book in a feverish-like state in just a couple weeks, and honestly that’s what it feels like reading this book.
I binged this book in a week and it was the best and worst time of my life.
I love this book I just want to tuck it into my heart and wrote it all over my soul<3
I literally talked to my mom yesterday about Jude and I almost started crying hahah

it takes quite a while to process this book (which i think you can already see by how chaotic this already is) so

ahhhh guys this book. this. book.
hshshshsh

let’s see if I can even sort my thoughts enough to make a decent list 😀
  • this book was perfectly paced. it never got went to fast or dragged out, it was so perfect.
  • Molloy <3333 my girl I love her with my entire heart. she’s the strongest, most amazing, admirable woman, she’s my idol <333 my angel with her dirty wings<33
  • and Joey my boy<333 he’s the strongest, most loyal, admirable man with the biggest heart <333 my Joey the hurler <33 i love him so much it hurts
  • Joey and Aoife are so perfect for each other , they’re soulmates<33 they’ve both been through so much, but came out stronger and have known and loved each other for so long, they’ve basically molded together
  • watching them fall off the deep end hurt so bad. when Aoife would just give him her earphone and hold his hand in class was so cute but so sad ahhh <|3  and when he finally squeezed her hand back jsksjdksk
  • the way they knew each other so well was everything to me- the way he would always reassure her that he would never cheat on her because he knew she had daddy issues <333
  • the way she would always assure him that she believed in him and would stay by him because she knew he was just waiting for her to leave him
  • the way Joey loved so fiercely ksjdjdj the way he loved the women in his life was sweet but so so sad <|3 and how he tried so hard to trust and not run from Edel <33 I love them
  • I love John and Edel. so much.
  • I love Joey’s therapist/doctor bahahah she’s so sassy and sarcastic, she’s perfect
  • I loved the role Lizzy played in joeys life and the silent understanding they have of each other. I love them having each others backs <33

  • the way they were both so clear on not following joeys parents footsteps. Joey trying so hard to prove he was nothing like his father and Aoife saying that she would leave him if he fucked up again and that she would always put AJ first.
on that note- Joey and Aoife are such good parents I can’t their so amazing and strong <333 Aoife is such a power mom she’s the best and Joey is so gentle and loving to AJ I love this little family with my entire heart soul and spirit.
and his naaame <33 Anthony (after both their father figure Tony) Joseph (after Joey) Lynch (because she wanted everyone to know Joey claimed his son until they were married at least) AJ<333

I think I’ve said “the way..” like a million times in this review but that’s okay, take care and stay hydrated loves<3 and nice legs, mhua

oh my god I literally cried the entirety of this book no joke

okay so
  • I love Kenna so so much I’m not kidding, I somehow have something for the saddest characters ever. I love how fleshed out and how human she was, I could understand every one of her thoughts and feelings
  • I like how we got a little bit of Scotty too, the scenes with him were so cute, it makes the book even sadder but also somehow better, deeper
  • Diem was so cute oh my god i love her and I love how much Ledger loved her and I loved Kenna’s reactions to her, I loved all her scenes
  • This might be kinda random but I love how Colleen Hoover includes all her book titles into a major moment or big paragraph in the book, it’s so satisfying
  • I liked the way there wasn’t a villain or the “bad one” or something it was all just hurting characters trying to get through life, it feels realer

However
I didn’t find Ledger particularly fleshed out, I don’t feel like we know thatttt much about him like we know of his football career and we know what his parents are like but not how he grew up and idk I’d wished he was treaded like an actual main character and not like a crutch for kennas character.
I also found that the book didn’t have that much major plot points, like the story was just going and it didn’t feel very structured, which of course doesn’t have to be a very bad thing if it’s done well but idk I kinda found it dragging here and there
and lastly not really a negative point but I would have killed for more scenes of Kenna with her daughter oh my god l need the closure please

anyways that’s all for now take care and stay hydrated lovessss <3 mhuaaa

oh my god this book
this book feels like a work of art

it’s honestly this close 🤏🏻 to perfect let me explain
  • first of all the writingggg  I’m not gonna lie you’re gonna need a dictionary but trust it’s worth it. it’s lyrical and poetic and beautiful it seems to dance on the paper
  • the characters oh my the Zumra<3 especially the core four, they’re everything. the way they’re connected and how they would do anything for each other I love them <3
  • Nasir and Zafira are so so cute I love them. I’m a sucker for slow burn and a sad boy who loves his girl unconditionally and this was exactly my cup of tea <3 honestly my only complain is not having more scenes with them
  • sooo the lion kskdkdk I love love love when the villain is fully developed and you can really understand where he’s coming from, even better if he’s hot hihi (I can fix him!!)
  • I loved how we got the little Altair x Lana plotline it really deepened Altairs character and made Lana’s outcome so much sadder
  • and Kifah I love her sm I wished we had seen more of her though. more of her story, more vulnerable scenes and also a little more about her ending (what I mean is I would’ve loved her point of view as well)

okay now
  • I missed the climax like it was just over at the end. and somehow the fight didn’t seem that grand even though people died it didn’t feel like much of a big thing unfortunately
  • The book was just over at the end hahah like suddenly there were only two pages left :,)

well that’s it for now take care and stay hydrated habibis <33 mhuaa

Applaus an Julia<3

King of Greed by Ana Huang

Did not finish book. Stopped at 56%.
I started this in a bookstore because I was bored and I needed something familiar and easy to read, and before I noticed I had read 100 pages. I loved those first hundred pages, they were just what I imagined this book would be, fun, well written and just good vibes, it was like a movie playing in my head.

I went back a second time and read another 80ish pages, but they didn’t feel the same. I found myself getting annoyed at Dominic and a little bored of Alessandra, the other characters weren’t much either.

I tried going back and trying to read it one last time but by then too much time had passed. I wasn’t feeling it at all anymore.

I really want to try reading it a second time though, especially since I skipped the second book, kind of pride. I also really liked the first part of the book and I feel like in the middle of Ana Huang books there’s always this one part that you have to get over quickly so you don’t get stuck, and since I didn’t own the book I got stuck.

I really liked the lonely dramatic scenes in big expensive rooms and I loved the golden, magazine kind of fancy aesthetic of Dominic and Alessandra. I also really liked their past scenes where they got to know each other.

take care and stay hydrated loves<3 and don’t read books you don’t feel like reading, life is way to short to read books that you don’t enjoy reading! mhuaaa

the second part is kinda boring all together. I would recommend reading the original edition where the timelines are mixed, it makes it much more fun.

I love tahereh mafi and I’ll honestly just read anything she writes at this point.

I reread this book a few weeks ago because I wanted a familiar and easy to read but emotional, well written book with nice characters  and this was that<33 I love this little book, its really short but holds so much<3

I loved Shirin’s character and her character development; I loved her thoughts and  attitude. I loved how this book showed racism and discrimination and the results of that. I loved the little romance and family dynamic. I just had a really good time with this book. I even cried ;)

anyways take care and stay hydrated <333 mhuaa
