My Friends by Hisham Matar

Nothing happened, I guess it's reflective and enjoyed it generally. It was good but not outstandingbfor me, and found some of the writing overdone

I enjoyed and really got into the first half then realised in the second half was much the same, nothing had happened. Also found his relationships really annoying, like Khaled just felt sorry for himself for the whole book and let live happen and was so passive

I enjoyed this book, read it in a day and flew through the first half of the book. It slowed a little for me in the mid-section, with the emails but overall I enjoyed this book. It was a good, easy Sunday read for my local book club, thinking about different tropes of romantic comedies.
