The Getaway List by Emma Lord
4.0
A very cute YA read! Perfect for a short summertime read/listen if you want to escape to young love. Was pulling for them to all find happiness and the ending wrapped everything up nicely! Wish we had the delivery app in real life, how fun would it be to get an anonymous gift?! Feel like this one would make a great Netflix movie/show. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for something cute!
One Summer on Mackinac by Alana Robin
3.0
Cute for a debut YA novel but kind of dull and boring.. I liked the idea of the novel but I felt like it needed a little more drama or something more engaging. I thought the subplot of her high school crush was going to turn the book around but then he just left and never was mentioned again. Thought the end was also going to make it all worth it but it was also just dull. Would’ve loved an afterward where they bumped into each other visiting the island a few years later or something along those lines.
Funny Story by Emily Henry
3.0
Definitely not my favorite Emily Henry read and took me wayyy too long to finish it. Finally finished it on audio while traveling and it was just average in my opinion. I know a lot of people loved this one but she is so hit or miss for me.
Six More Months of June by Daisy Garrison
3.0
I typically love a YA, coming of age, dual POV plot, but this one is throwing me a curveball in trying to rate and review it. I flew through this book and actually somewhat enjoyed the juvenile dialogue but there were such heavy topics that it didn’t feel YA to me. I feel like we were supposed to swoon over Caplan but I just felt like I wanted to punch him in the face the entire time.. Hollis was truly the only character that I enjoyed entirely and wish we could’ve gotten her POV in the book as well. Overall, a quick easy YA read but be cautioned that it explores some heavy topics.
Seven Summer Weekends by Jane L. Rosen
4.0
Very cute and easy summertime read. If you like being swept away to a charming island and falling in love with a famous but humble author who lives next door, this one is for you! I liked all the different visitors each weekend and piecing together more and more about her Aunt along the way. Not the most depth to this one but it was a sweet summery read and I was pulling for Addie!
Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid
4.0
This was an interesting read and not at all what I expected. Each character was complex and had all kinds of deep rooted issues that it was kind of hard to love the book. It reminded me of how I feel watching videos (like the one in the book) where people are so clearly in the wrong and making a public scene and you want to reach through the phone/book to help. I liked the overall message and it was a fast listen on audiobook.
Cassandra in Reverse by Holly Smale
3.0
Not my favorite read. I enjoyed Cassandra’s character but the plot was too much of the same over and over (I know that was the point but it just felt like an endless loop). Would’ve loved a little more depth or adventure to it. I did love Cassandra’s character and felt her struggles to be relatable to so many. I was really rooting for her but ultimately did not find this that enjoyable.

A perfect ending to this trilogy! J.L. Hyde continues to surprise me with the curveball plot twists sprinkled in throughout. It makes you want to keep turning pages and staying up just a little later to keep reading. Her style of writing where she mixes dark topics with lighthearted banter and humor is impressive. You can tell she really puts her heart, soul, small town charm, sarcasm, and quick wit into every character. My only advice before you read this one is to grab a couple of reading buddies, find yourself a cute cabin on a lake in Northern MI, and read this one out by the bonfire.
Thank you J.L. Hyde for the ARC!

Iconic ending to the Nantucket novels and characters we know and love. Absolutely no notes. This one will forever hold a special place in my heart!
Mistakes We Never Made by Hannah Brown

Loved!! Read this close to the new Carley Fortune and they had similar storylines but really enjoyed both. The characters were fun, I liked the friend group dynamics, and I liked the spontaneity of it. A cute beachy summertime read!
