This was my first Emily Henry book & it got 3.8 β˜… from me.

Now before anyone says anything, I would like to say I extremely enjoyed the romance in this book. Especially so, because I've not been reading any romance for a while + the fact that I really despise the friends to lovers trope for my own personal reasons but this book truly was a treasure.

Alex Nilsen & Poppy Wright are one of the brightest and cutest couples I've seen in a book for a very long while and I live by what I said. Their chemistry, the little gestures they do for each other & the tension that underlines their friendship in almost every interaction leads to a dynamic that entrances, amuses & please the reader from the very first chapter. Added to that is Emily Henry's brilliant & life-giving storytelling that makes the characters jump out of the pages, makes every scene and destination play out as vividly as a movie in your eyes and makes the story even more beautiful than it already was.

An absolute treasure of a summer read, This book made me heavily travel-sick and heavily lovesick and sick of the sweetness that drips of the pages and hearts of the characters whose lives I witnessed in it's bound pages.

The only think that prevented me from giving a 5β˜† review perhaps was the ending. Maybe this is because I've never fallen in love, or because I'm too selfish or too money hungry or too ambitious or perhaps still too young to digest the fact that a woman might leave a prestigious & amazing job for a man within who she suddenly discovers her "passion" lies in, but the ending reminded me too much of devil wears prada, and I do not like devil wears Prada.

So all in all, even though this was an amazing read, the ending sadly wasn't for me. But still it remains a beautiful read for me, and I'd like to thank the author and her team for producing such a good piece of work. Thank you.

Can I just tell you that it took me a day & a half to process all the events and stuff that took place in this amazing, astounding, beautiful book? I feel as if I can rave on and one about how great this book is but never will I ever be able to do it justice....

Albeit it took me a whole month to finish it just cuz my own lethargic tendencies but I couldn't be more glad that I read this beautiful masterpiece. Each and every single line and passage and description and everything is so beautifully written, the right and can I say out of the regular cliche y/a fantasy metaphors being used in the right places, I could literally feel and see and vividly visualize what the author meant and tried to make the readers understand in every sentence. And let's not start about the characters.

EACH. AND. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THE. CHARACTERS. IN. THIS. BOOK. IS.  BRILLIANT.
I think I've never read such a book before where I've enjoyed the existence of each & every characters as much as I  did while reading this. Each of them have their own different personalities, like you can actually differentiate between two characters and the prose makes it so that you feel each of their emotions as plainly as any empath or reader is able to while reading a 𝘨𝘰𝘰π˜₯ Book. Each of them have their own sets of morals, values, and ideas that are completely unique to each of them! And coming to morals, this book actually sets the standard I refer to when I talk about loving morally grey characters.

And like I said before I don't think any amount of praise can actually do justice to this masterpiece that the author has extracted from their brain and put out into the world. But I can do tell that reading this book would probably be one of the best decisions you'd ever make in your reading life.

So to summarise, with Amazing prose, amazing characters, amazing twists and a whole lot more amazing thrilling experiences felt through the pages, I feel obliged to rate this beautiful book a full 5β˜†, something I regrettably have to give cuz there's no option of giving more.

This is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read & I literally couldn't be more glad for picking it up! Each and every sentence and word The author wrote twists and weaves itself into a beautiful symphony of line after mesmerizing line that decorates the pages of this book. It was truly one of the most beautiful poetry books I've ever read. Thank you so much to the author & her team for this beautiful piece of art and to my pinterest feed that introduced me to this book!

Whenever I'm talking with my other bookworm friends or just reader friends I always have a habit of emphasizing just how much I dislike and don't read Non-Fiction of any kind. And a major part of this entire category is self help books. I can preach out loud to every single person I meet just how much I dislike self help books and the entire genre altogether. But this particular one literally altered my brain chemistry. 𝘐 𝘸𝘒𝘯𝘡 𝘡𝘰 π˜₯π˜ͺ𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘡 π˜ͺ 𝘸𝘒𝘯𝘡 𝘡𝘰 𝘦𝘒𝘡 π˜›π˜΅π˜¦π˜°π˜¬π˜£π˜°π˜¬π˜¬π˜ͺ by Baek Sehee is perhaps the only book from the non-fiction category that I would never regret picking up. It's a beautifully written work of literature that talks and explains so many different emotions, aspirations & talks about one's own feelings towards their way of living despite the supposedly "miserable" aspects of their life in a way that is understandable and humane in every way. It is rich with knowledge that might be not known to many, especially active sufferers of certain mental illnesses, especially depression.

Something that I've always found horrible in self help books is how the authors always manage to present such an idealistic life and an almost unrealistic way of living, sometimes so much hard to follow that a normal person or those who have problems with consistency in routine would perhaps never be able to cope up with. But Baek Sehee demonstrates a perfectly humane way of dealing with all negative emotions. She shows that lapsing back into bad habits is always okay, but what matters the most is how we tackle it and process it and improve ourselves.

Moreover most of the time in these books every prospect or habit or requirement of living a good and healthy life is given as a necessity or a commandment, something I severely detest from someone who is as much of a human as I am or ever will be. Many a times for me this sounds pretentious and narcissistic just for the cause that they could handle their miserable lives or past habits in a way that was better or more efficient that most. Baek Sehee however humanizes such feelings. She, through her writing, tries to make readers understand that what they are going through is not a permanent things but instead only a season, that nothing is incurable just of we keep trying. With beautiful metaphors and an amazing translation, this book was truly one that kept me going.

I can firmly say That I doubt I would ever be picking up any other non-fictional read in my life once again as much as I can firmly say that this book was one of the best reads of my life. So even though I picked this up just for the sake of the pretty and cute cover, I stayed cause the author won my heart with her writing and modesty. Thank you to the author and the team who made this book possible. I hope to read more.

The book progresses realllyy very slowly so if you're not into that please don't go into read this lol. I tbh found the first few chapters quite unengaging at first but the pace of the book and the meanings and metaphors slowly caught up speed from the middle. I went from thinking to give it a 3 star in chapter 4 to knowing I would give it a 5 star while reading chapter 6 haha. The book has a wierd manner of combining absurdism with reality and allows the reader to interpret each and every line with their own personal metaphor. Like imagine the work of Junji Ito but les gore and more fantasism that sometimes almost gets beyond  the point of comprehension. This book had a comparatively weak start for me but it ended of strong. There were moments when I felt infuriated by certain plot points but they all clashed together into a beautiful ending. If you're looking for a lengthy read that's not too lengthy and makes you perceive the world differently than before then this one is it.
