this book painted the challenges of domestic abuse really well. to be honest knowing the infamy surrounding colleen hoover’s work i didn’t expect it to be such a hard hitting book but it captured the gray area of the conflict really well. readers wanted the couple to succeed so badly and loved them but at the same time knew that it couldn’t and shouldn’t work (not if the main character made the right choices for herself) and that’s what made it a great book.
this book is a really good summer read. it’s pretty slow paced; readers just keep getting more of the story unfolded to them. the past and present weave together beautifully to capture the full picture of the Riva family. I loved the style or revealing the past slowly to get the necessary context for the present. the book captures summer and all the drama of the 80s in a very entertaining way.
this was the second book in the series and though I’m usually a firm believer that sequels never top the original, i believe this one did. the story was really interesting with all kinds of plot twists to make the book hard to put down. the pace was just right and though there were darker aspects to the storyline, the book had an overall satisfying ending and left me feeling happy for the characters.
I really enjoyed this book it’s very much the definition of a beach read. I probably would have given it 5 stars had I gotten to read it while lying on a towel at the beach. Also the plot is quite predictable to an extent and not exactly super unique but that’s okay because the vibes are fantastic and the overall book is very cute and nice to read. It has beach vibes with a wedding and a cute little fling/charming romance but with a little twist because they’re also all playing assassin!
this is a well-written book that gave me a lot of lore about achilles and other greek heroes of mythology but the pacing was a little slow (especially in the beginning). the ending had more action for sure and the main characters were very well developed so those are both huge plus points for the book. it did a great job of capturing mythology in a novel format but i prefer books with more action and plot.
i rly liked this book but not as much as the first one. this one’s plot was a little more forgettable (not as iconic as the first) but the plot twists were still really good and I was intrigued the entire time.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

this book was so good i get the percy jackson hype now!! it genuinely made me laugh a few times and i was actually in suspense with all the plot twists. this one is my fav of the five percy jackson books i’ve read so far—it was such a good read. i wasn’t bored once and percy and annabeth at the end made me really happy :)
the book started off a little slow but quickly became very interesting (there was one night I literally stayed up and read over a 100 pages all at once)!! it has a touch of romance but that’s not at all the main aspect of the book. the plot twist is exciting and the book keeps you hooked (you never truly know where it is going until the very end). looking forward to watching the romance develop in the rest of the trilogy!
