Well… that was wild.
Slow for the first 100 pages or so but then things get crazy. Not entirely sure how to feel but I guess I was entertained?? Look up trigger warnings before reading.

This was such a beautiful, wholesome, and heartwarming cozy read! I love the representation. The artwork is so cute and pretty, and the story was really touching in moments and made me smile. My inner child is so happy. 🥹

If you like poetry and you love dogs, read this book. It’s so sweet and thoughtful, and I found myself tearing up a few times. It made me want to hold my pup a bit closer and thank her for being my best friend.

This book is very touching at times and I really liked the connections that are understood by the end.
As a reader I think I struggle with books that aren’t more gripping from the start. This is a very relaxed story. There’s a lot at the beginning of each chapter about the cafe, the characters, the sometimes awkward interactions with the customers who want to time travel, etc. I just really wanted to get to the parts where we find out who these people are and why they’re wanting to time travel faster. I can see why it’s written the way it is since this novel evolved from what was originally a play. I think watching some of the interactions that were written about performed would be interesting, but reading about them slowed the book down for me.
I can’t say it’s a slow read because it’s a shorter book, but I think I prefer reads that move the plot along a bit quicker. That being said, I loved the stories that came from this little cafe and the way their reflections upon moments in their lives inspired such hope. We could all use a little more of that.
