A true horror story, on multiple levels.  I'm so impressed by what the author was able to do here.  This is my first Rivers Solomon book, and I will definitely be reading more!  Wow.

I really enjoyed this!  I listened to it in audio book format -- which I never otherwise do -- at the recommendation of my husband and stepdaughter -- and it really suited the format.  It is creepy and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.  I hadn't enjoyed The Cabin at the End of the Woods, so I wasn't planning to read another Paul Tremblay.  But my family enjoyed this one so much I decided to give it a shot and was glad I did.  I am open to reading more Tremblay in the future.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
I did not realize this was YA when I requested it from the library.  The story is cute, but the characters and language do indeed feel very young -- not what I was looking for.  The design of the book itself with the pretty pink printed pages is really charming.

Interesting themes, but the writing style, while sometimes quite lovely, more often felt like a chore to parse. I felt held at arms length from the character and the story.

Like Sammie’s friends, I was rooting for them to dump these awful bros from their college days. But the book did a nice job exploring why Sammie might continue to engage in these relationships. I really enjoyed the corporate buzzword gobbledygook - it was captured well.  Plus, zombies!  And a touching aspect to the ending.

This started off fun, but a plot reveal/twist with about a quarter of the book left was so ridiculous and unbelievable it made me mad at the book!

A really solid mystery with believable, interesting characters. It’s a real page turner, I could not put it down!
