Wow, so I listened to her narration of her memoir and you always have an idea of how people can experience certain things, but when you really listen to them it just always leaves me speechless. I really recommend listening to the audio with Jennette McCurdy's narration!

Ok this book really had me hooked after the first few chapters and I genuinely enjoyed it as a whole. Overall magic system was just enough and easy to follow along with the plot and gave it such a nice cozy feeling. I did feel as if the ending was a bit rushed and could've been lengthen in some way, somehow maybe?

This entire series was overall good. I didn't expect it to be so heavily  focused on the war overall. Rin's character was pretty frustrating at times, but considering all of the betrayals and experiences she's been through it's understandable. R.F. Kuang selected such an interesting way to end the series and I think it makes the most sense for the characters.

Such a tense and complex continuation to the poppy war series. This book was such an adventurous and emotional rollercoaster to read. There were many times where I got frustrated with Rin's decisions, but at the same time I appreciate how this scenario is more realistic given the war setting and her fantastical powers of course. ALSO, the amount of detail in the world building, war strategies, battling, and just overall effects to the characters from natural elements/disasters is brilliant.

This book took me a second to get into, mainly due to the shift to third person narration, BUT it was so worth it once I did. The display of internal complexity between the main character, Rin, and her comrades/enemies is insane. I haven't read a book in a long time where the characters really demonstrate the difficulty of maintaining and gaining relationships and learning to quickly adapt to a variety of factors all of this while an entire war going on as well.

Another fun continuation of the Forger family and we get to see a bit more development into other characters.
