Read this book 2 years ago. Picked it up this morning just to look through my annotations, and ended up reading the whole book again. Which is so funny, because I haven't picked up a self-help book in years.
Reading it as the person I am today, it was sinking in harder than when I first read this. The amount of times I wanted to cry, because I was reflecting back on my past self, it was emotional. I feel beyond grateful right now.
This book was so insightful, and I felt empowered by it.

Xyla is so kind and strong. Who doesn't love a strong FMC? Eli—I want his POV! I did not expect his character to be so kind and sweet. Giggles bubbled out of me; the romance was the cherry on top. Esmeralda makes my blood boil to the f*cking brim—WTF! I can't wait to see why Xyla's mother did what she did, her story is still so mysterious.

Just when I was thinking all these cliffhangers were going to give me a heart attack, I went to check for book two, and saw it's already available, so I will be immediately starting that.
