british men go on a silly trip, much unprepared for the pre-war climate and uncaring of the dangers.. it takes a few bullets over their heads to think 'Hmm, maybe we do need to crawl on the ground (undignified) like others, instead of walking straight up past the street during shootings'. The narrator is a sightseer at heart, whether it's armed revolutionists or extreme poverty.
Took them many weeks around the country to get to their destination and two days for one's father to catch up with them when they finally arrived. Incredible dilly-dallying.
only read it because of breaking my ebook reader with other books to read.
