An incredible homage to the world of gaming. I Don't consider myself a gamer but I loved the incredible reference that the author has made throughout the book. There was incredible writing in describing the landscape, the workaround of the game and the wellness of the vision behind this game. The beautiful game Ichigo that they first made was so meticulously thought out that you are instantly absorbed in Sam and Sadie’s obsession. This book is about collaboration in art, soulmates and the bond you have to create something that comes from their labour of love. I completely felled in love with Zoe and Marx as well. There is sense of tenderness, love and something equiva to warm embrace at the end of the novel. However there are instances in which some of the plots fell short, the timing and narrative did not fit. It was not a completely put through and the development of Sadies character at the end would have slightly differ, it just felt odd that she had put Sam at a higher accountability than her ex? I mean, those were areas which I felt the creative choice in Sadie felt a bit out of character at the end.

The writing was so easy to be engrossed with, its not difficult to follow with the narrative. Yes, characters are very binary and there is always a sense of good bs bad here. Quite a classic retelling of all cult/classic horror. The only new ones added were the role of colonialism and, the social and wealth structure aspects to it. It was a fun and engaging read all in all

Incredibly beautiful story that discusses philosophy, Japanese culture and history with combination of metaphysical elements to it. Its bold, it’s incredibly well written and poignant. At times the story were surreal and feels like a dream story, as if u slept and woke up in a boat in the open ocean. Its hard to describe but to me personally it felt like tht

This book should be riddled with trigger warnings. It’s definitely a page turner and there are parts that i consider to be subversive and there are part that i find to comical or parody it, like verses that wants to reach a point of subversion but derail and deliver something different.

overall a good book that definitely keeps u glued to the pages
