George’s writing is pretty clunky in the beginning but you find the grove of it.
It’s slower than you’d expect but extremely readable. Id suggest this to anyone wanting to get into fantasy because it’s such an easy read.

Sweet Sansa is my favorite. Daenerys is the definition of gaslight gatekeep girlboss.

Moshfegh has a real problem with fatphobia and her problem with fat people. This book (of what I’ve read) is by far her most interesting but you just can’t read anything without being hit over the head with how much she doesn’t like fat people.

This book is about 40 pages too long. And what I mean is the 40 pages where f*g is splattered across the page should have been heavily edited. Also, shoehorned racism and an unnecessary drop of the hard r n-word.

Moshfegh is a gifted writer, the last hundred pages reflect this, but I haven’t come  across such an ‘edgy’ woman in a very long time. “Oh, she’s raw, she tells it like it is,” can happen without the flippant use of slurs.
