I often come across books that I think have the potential to be made into movies or tv shows, but rarely do I come across books that should have been a movie INSTEAD of a book, Lakewood is one of those books.

The story Lakewood tells is a story that we should all hear, but I found the majority of this book extremely confusing. And don’t get me wrong I love confusing books! But with the lack of visuals was the experience more of a “what am I supposed to see happening” instead of “what the hell are they doing here”. It became less of a mystery that you are trying to piece together and more of a blurred image you are trying to focus on so you can try to put the pieces together. I wish that the entire book was written in letters and not just the last chapters, I think that eliminates the problem I have with the book, but still lets the main character be confused and question her own sanity.

TLDR: Lakewood should have been presented in a different format so the story would have shined brighter and more clearly!

I don't know if I accept Swedish representation in books... Personally not a fan if it :/

(I’m Norwegian so I’m allowed to say this, but if you are not Scandinavian and come for my Swedish boy will I end you!)

Idk why, but this gave huge strange things vibes..? It has absolutely nothing in common except for a ton of bicycles and a group of kids who are gonna need a lot of therapy in the future. So if that's your scene, then you might want to pick this up.

A great book for introducing children to climate change/water pollution. The book explains the seriousness of the topic without making it scary and in a language that everyone can understand. A book I would recommend to parents who want's to read books to their children with a bit more substance.

My favorite one out of the three, mainly because the pacing was the easiest to follow.
