Lol it was fun and interesting. Love seeing men be conscious of the horrible effect the patriarchy has on them as well and educating others about it in fun ways. I'll try to use some of the quotes here but im afraid i dont talk with men/guys much... probably for the best. The interview in the end of the audiobook with the mom was pretty good and funnny too
felt too similiar to the current climate sadly.... the story was interestingly written with NFL and grammar rules explained being linked with the story. i enjoyed the audiobook narration as well. i really hope things do get better, but alas its hard to be optimistic...
i dont know what to say. im a little sad the series is over, that I don't own them (only read them as ebooks from Libby) and that I found the ending with Oona confusing... like I don't know what really happened but I know it was sad and I dont like the trope of found family going their separate ways it always makes me mad... but oh well, this was a fun time, the art was GORGEOUS in literally every panel and I wanna eat it. gotta draw some fanart someday for sure
honestly i was here for the vibes because the story didn't make much sense. It's purposefully so but it's confusing. the trauma that Ginny goes through is awful but I did learn something new, about Zainichi Koreans who are ethnically Korean people born and raised in Japan after 1945. Never knew about that and how much discrimination and prejudice they go through... it's awful. Ginny does something quire revolutionary against the North Korean dictatorship (at her school not like she goes against Kim or something, she'd be dead then) and gets expelled from her Japan school, then moves to Hawaii, and in the present she's in Oregon with an American foster mother. we don't know what happened to her birth parents, or exactly why she had to leave Japan and then Hawaii but oh well. it was interesting, I liked that I learned something, and seeing a character try to heal and move on is always great.
love this series so far, i cant seem to find anything to criticize. the art is gorgeous, I love how important the side characters are especially my little baby Ann Tzu. cant wait to read the epic finale
i dunno what to say, this was unlike any other fantasy book I read. i loved Fitz a lot and felt pretty protective over him, he goes through all kinds of shit and abuse, alcoholism and hack he even has suicidal attempts. and he's only 15, poor guy. who thinks training a kid to become an assassin is a good idea? still I loved that the story took things seriously and politics were very important which was fun
i actually ended up relating more than I thought I would but then again, I shouldn't be surprised as a fellow mentally ill audhder. i feel like some ciristicism of Paige Layle are good but she gets a lot of hate for things that make no sense. i liked that she criticized capitalism, and hack she should learn about mid-support needs but that's it. oh and she mentioned her blue eyes and blonde hair too often, that's all. the story was pretty detailed, too intense at times but the ending was hopeful and that made me feel better. she really was privileged and she does seem aware but hack I wish I had the support she did, living in a 3rd world country as an audhder is hell.
It's over! The manga i started reaeing back when i was 16 is OVER! Woohoo. It took a long time for me to get into it but i persevered. I still tbink L doing made the story work but dang it wasnt the same without him. I liked Near though. The ending was genius! It couldn'thave ebded any itber way but Light dying. It makes 100% sense that Matsuda wojld be the one shooting him and Ryuk wjo kills him in the end. His maniacal laughter was so unnerving gosh. Also the popular tiktok/ig reel audio 'I can't laugh yet i gotta hold it in' is apprently from death note, this volume... crazy! I didnt like the treatment of any female characters so for that i cant say i love this series. If he wrote them well it could even be a 5 out of 5 but oh well...
