there's definitely something to be said about the lack of diversity in this book particularly because it deals with basic feminism and yet the most oppressed person in the book is a conventionally attractive white woman (which isn't to say her struggles aren't worth mentioning, i just wished for more) but it was nevertheless enjoyable and an easy quick read. i figured out the plot after like 3 chapters and was hoping it would still surprise me, which it did not, but it was atmospheric and dealt with its heavy topics soooomewhat well, romance was cuteish (wasn't really feeling it)

i had to get used to the writing, mainly bc i wasnt expecting it to be YA since it wasnt sold to me as such, im glad i stuck with it anyways. glasgow boys turned out to be a touching story about love (in all meanings of the word) and forgiveness with flawed, sad, wonderful characters that i was rooting for until the very end. different than what i expected, but nevertheless a great book.
