i’ve been having a hard time with a man called ove. i’m unsure why, but when i saw that fredrik backman had a short story, i decided to give it a try. i read this in one sitting, of course, and it really kept my attention. i enjoyed how there was a plot, but it’s main purpose was for character development and to show different lives and perspectives. i loved the conversations about human nature too. really good short story, i hope i can finish a man called ove soon!
Moderate: Animal death and Car accident

had some trouble with the first half, felt very hard to get into. after hitting the 50% mark i was locked in. that’s not to say this isn’t a wonderful book, it was so good. would recommend 1000%. someone reviewed this as “a book to be consumed in moments of hunger” and i think that’s perfect.

i’m so. what the fuck. definitely recommend. had a few issues with the writing but overall. jesus. i’m never going to be the same. i’m not sure if ill read the other books since it seems to be the same plot device but i might. i feel like it could have been better as a standalone, but i guess we’ll see
