not the best book in the series, but does help to better establish Warner’s emotional connection and draw to Juliette

I forced myself to read this just because I’m re-reading the entire series including the novellas but gahdamn I hate reading from Adam’s perspective

this was definitely an easy read romance. wasn’t my favorite book because I feel like vivi took advantage of jonah in a lot of ways. she whirled into his life very unexpectedly and disrupted a lot, some could argue for good. but I really do sympathize with jonah and what I feel vivi put him through in the name of love.

to an extent she showed him a different way to look at pain and what he’d been through, but all while also deeply struggling herself and refusing help, almost being hypocritical in that way. the only person I somewhat liked was jonah, but even his character was conflicting.

the writing was poetic in a way, very detailed. every scene was thoroughly described down to the smallest detail. it painted a good picture, but sometimes seemed over the top.

I like Warner and Juliette’s relationship but Warner still gives me the ick sometimes lol. also fuck Adam, that heartless bitch. I literally don’t care how much trauma he’s been through, that doesn’t give him a right to treat people like he does.

it’s the way people glamorize abuse for me. it’s the way people think this kinda writing is the bees knees for me.

as good as this book was, after reading the throne of glass series it pales in comparison. it’s a fantastic story and reads very easily, but I wasn’t able to connect with these characters as much. feyre is wicked smart though and I love rhys ;)
