It didn’t portrayed the intensity of being “absorbed” by a cult ( or even calling Russell and the Gang as a cult). Yet the uncertainty not being normal, accepted and fit in was nuanced, which adds realistic emotions.

Utterly disturbing. Felt overwhelmingly uncomfortable with the sex scenes, even though they technically should be arousing. Yet, why did I like it??? Because the topic was bizarre? Because Celeste's mind is simply so fucked up that it's intriguing? The atmosphere was as humid and sticky as the climate of Tampa can be, suiting the sociopathic behavior of Celeste. I don't know what to say... AHHHHHHHHHH

Wow. I adored this book. It's funny, witty, yet SO DAMN ACCURATE that you'll get a gut punch. It hurts – how online dating could be disposable, losing common topics with friends, feeling your life is falling apart. I really liked how the book didn't conclude with a love relationship – it makes it more inspiring!

Since it was a hyped-up book, I've expected more – I didn't understand why Tate was so into Kya? What was so special about her?

Loved the idea of the book, but too many characters, too many plot ideas scattered through the book – kind of hard to follow what the core story was. The ending was also a bit predictable. I preferred The Circle more as it had a consistent story/character development!
