there’s nothing actively bad about this book, it’s just very lacking in content, and the content that is there can often be redundant. everything discussed was given a paragraph on average—it’s like the sparknotes of learning poetry

edit: i’ve rounded down on goodreads now that i’ve had more time. i wasn’t a huge fan of the writing style (once i started noticing the redundancy i couldn’t stop seeing it), and there are several aspects of the plot/occurrences/characters that were predictable and/or weren’t fleshed out. it was still a fun story and i’m interested in continuing the series!
