I liked this book and I always want to support LGBTQ novels, especially romance. But it all fell a little flat for me, it was *too* slow of a burn and the power imbalance just ended up feeling sort of ick to me.

I think I am finally hooked, in a serious way. I wasn’t expecting for this series to take a bit to get into and I like that the plot isn’t as predictable as I thought it would be.

This series feels so special to the young queer version of myself, also to that younger version of me that struggled to realize how important it is to remind yourself that you’re not alone and that it’s okay to allow people to be there for you and take care of you when you need it.
I love these characters and want to be wrapped up in these series like a warm hug.

They should make this into a romcom, that’s really all I have to say.

I really enjoyed how there actual friendship, trust, and support woven into these two characters and it wasn’t just your run of the mill “two young gay women fall in love within seconds of locking eyes”. I loved the “side quests” and all the context given about their families. This story is special. Young queer love!!!!

I like to think that all of Sarah J Maas’ characters exist in the same multiverse (and I will continue that delusion in my own head)

I wish I would have started her series’ out with this and worked my way to her most recent but I really enjoyed this. Team Cahol but also majorly team Celaena because she is a total badass!!
