This book. This was so atmospheric and magical. Transformed me straight into the autumnal mood with its beautiful description of the scenery and its cozy witchy aspects. It was also a little spooky with the King Below and the dark magic. It felt a little bit insta love but it worked. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
Boring. And after reading reviews I didn’t want to waste my time on a book that I find boring and in the end is only interesting for the last 30 pages

It read very juvenile to me, the fmc in particular read as tho she was 12 when she is supposedly 20. The overuse of curse words where they weren’t necessary was a turnoff. The plot was also weak and very predictable. Why would a school kill off a major part of able bodied men and women every year? what good does that do? It didn’t seem well thought out to me, it felt rushed. The craze online for this book might have contributed to my feeling majorly let down by how boring I found it as well.
