The 3rd novel in a series turned graphic novel, Evil Spy School is a funny elementary/middle grade spy book that follows a young Benjamin Ripley, math prodigy. After a serious accident at school, ben is expelled and gets an offer to join the CIAs opponent, SPYDER. I found this book perfect for grades 3-6 (ages 8-11) and would recommend the novel for grade 7+(12+)
ben must decide between being a double agent or work for SPYDER. its more evil corp goverment abuse vs old school super villiantake over the world spy book

I loved this book so much! It took awhile to get through but has an amazing storyline and magic system. Its a dual pov everyother chapter changing between Emory and Baz. I feel inlove with alot of side characters, Kai and Jae were in my top 5. After 8 students die, 4 washing up on shores, 4 missing, Emory is the only survivor that night. After a summer away, emory returns to college to try and find the mystery of the Dovermere Caves and ends up unlocking secrets and mysterys beyond what she expected. The magic system revolve around the Tides and Sun and Moon and Darkness(the Gods and Godesses) perfect story for the moon, space and water witches!

Straight on Till Morning by Liz Braswell

Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
After multiple months of contemplating and researching i decided to not move forward with reading this book solely on liz braswells writing style and use of borderline racism to "further storyline and character development" for something recently released its really unnecessary to have tinker bell witness racism in uk towards Muslim people to prove a point on how terrible humanity is.

Britney Spears walks you through her life. Chapter by chapter, you come to understand more of what we saw versus what she saw and what was happening to her. Her writing style was captivating and i would love for her to write more. Whether it continues to autobiographical or fictional, britney deserves to be heard

3 different buffy stories by 3 different authors
Coyote Moon was 3 🌟
Had original character feels, but was written separately from the show. Uses Indigenous Lore of Skinwalkers as the villans.
Night of the Living ReRun was also 3 🌟. Buffy and friends are reincarnations of the slayer during the salem lot trials and are reliving the events in modern time. Over used story/plot
Portal though Time 4 🌟
Alot longer but time travel buffy was awesome
Went to 4 different time periods, met 4 different past slayers. Got to be very slow at points. The best parts were during the 2 slayers meeting.

One of dahls more harmless books, its about a girl with a "magic finger", an ability to change ppl into animals. She has no contol and it is powered by her anger. This book deals with either anti gun or hunting, but sends a mixed message on hunting for sport vs survival. I believe the family learns a lesson, wether its to stop hunting for fun or in general. The girl doesn't learn anything. It does have good lessons
page 47 the ducks say the humans killed their children, which is a little dark for how light the rest of the book is, on last page girl threatens another family with "magic finger" after hearing them hunting

Deeply disturbing how a man steals a womens pet to gain her love. Dahl is know for a child like horror/uncomfortable atmosphere but if it wasnt for the P.S at the end i wouldve gave it less then 1 star. Theres also a "teaching moment" in the beginning when Dahl tried to give history on tortoises being brought into europe from north africa, seemed very unsettling and didnt add anything to the plot.

A weird illustrated adaptation of a Jim Henson lost screenplay. The story is told mainly through illustrations, which i love. Its descriped in the introduction that its a comedy-drama but feels more like a mid-western, modern, scifi, acid trip/night terror comedy. It has hilarious moments and a very shocking twist. There were some very insensitive moments when it comes to Islamic n Indigenous culture, i docked stars for it.

Theres a running theme of basic villians.
The CIA recruits alex through the MI6, theres alot of British v. American bashing from the spys. The bad guy is a russian communist, wanting bring back soviet russia but across the world. There is a hilarious moment in canada but i think its cause im canadian n can see the funny in our stereotypes. The ending is a little heartbreaking and leaves you with mixed feelings.
