Really enjoyed. I really liked the main idea, but the book is very slow to read. It has a lot of unecesary part I would have taken out to make it more fluid. When you get to 60% you won't be able to stop though! Author did a great job with the writing. Would recommend if you are into fantasy books.

Entertaining, but I don't know why it won book of the year. It is good but not amazing. Knew what was going to happen since the first chapter

The characters and base story had so much potential, but after reading through 250 or so pages and NOTHING happening I couldn't take it anymore. I had to stop reading. The few moments where there is something exciting happening, it quickly switches back to descriptions that are not useful or necessary to the story. At 250 pages I was still confused as to what was going on because the author does not care to explain.
