The Case of the Hooking Bull by John R. Erickson

Mindless good fun as always. The humor really does hit pretty well for all ages.

I KNOW I will pick this up again eventually but want to read other things right now. Not the best written book but super important and has engaging stories, just could be better told.

Nah, already feels too YA. Might try again at some point but other things I’d rather read right now.
Gwen and Art Are Not in Love by Lex Croucher
4.75
Ok, I was skeptical going in, thinking this would be silly, poorly executed, and badly written YA but I loved it! Fun concept and yes, silly, but brilliantly done! I connected with all the characters, laughed out loud at times, and had a blast! Will check out this author’s other works.
The Tyrant's Tomb by Rick Riordan
3.5
Solid but unmemorable other than my queen Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano! And the funny romance between the Sibyl and the god of silence.
Flowers for the Sea by Zin E. Rocklyn

Not a fan at all. I guess I can see some of the important discussions the author was going for but I couldn’t follow what was going on and didn’t really care to. Unnecessary sex. I don’t like this kind of horror. Regret picking this up.
Bryony and Roses by T. Kingfisher

T. Kingfisher got me again! Went in thinking I wouldn’t like this but enjoyed it immensely! Still thinking about it a while after, even.
King of the Wind by Maguerite Henry
3.5
Solid. Emotional moments about the attachments possible between a person and an animal. Not the most anti-racist text I’ve ever read.
