It was slow starting and a little boring at the beginning but once it got going I really got in to it and started to enjoy it.
It is a science fiction book but it's not very heavy on the Sci fi but it does have a fair bit of romance in it including a love triangle (or I guess technically a love quadrilateral).
It is apparently supposed to be part of a trilogy but since it came out in 2008 and its now near the end of 2023 I'm not sure if it's actually going to happen! But thankfully the book dose work as a stand alone.
If you liked the Twilight books you will probably like this as it is along the same lines only alien parasites instead of vampires (and its told (mostly) from the aliens perspective not the human).
