I actually hated this book there were too many exclamation points and the dialougue was stupid. the plot moved so fast and nothing meant anything.
when they wanted to tell luke about their relationship that couldve been another source of conflict but instead he just accepted it without a fight.
“Well, Holly, I might be innocent, but in the bedroom, it's different.  I don’t think Zane is thinking of you while I wear his hand like a necklace, and he fucks me raw, yelling that he loves me as he cums.  Since we live together, he has bent me over every surface and fucked me without a condom over and over, going to sleep telling me how much he loves me each night.  He claims me out in public." babe why the fuck would you say this in public in front of that poor cashier.
they really had no shame in telling strangers or antagonists their business or sex life like that's private FOR A REASON WHY WOULD YOU GIVE THEM MORE AMMUNITION AGAINST YOU

i was so invested in this book I loved it so much but the ending seemed so sudden. the conflict just resolved and it ended I would've been happy with like 40 more pages. i wouldve loved so much more focusing on thwir relationship i feel cheated. cillian? loved him. vince & hugo? despicable monster people. alexei? okay I guess.
Cillians death that wasnt actually a death had me crying and im still pissed i cried over nothing.
SEAN 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. HE DESERVED SO MUCH MORE!!!
I'm still reading the entire rest of this series even tho I didn't like the abruptness of the ending

I normally say I'm not a historical romance person (or any type of historical fiction) but between this book and don't want you like a best friend maybe I have to read more because I loved them both. this book has so many tropes that I love: found family, nanny (kinda she's a governess), hidden identity, etc. their relationship was such a slowburn the first time they talked was 44% into the book and then they didn't talk again for another 2 chapters. this is one of the first books I've read where I picked up on the British accents and started reading with a British accent. we love lgbtq+ rep especially in a historical romance and 3 (im counting her too) of 4 in tbe main family being lgbt kinda shocked me ngl. anyways
charles? hated him. her mom? kinda hated her too idk why she just seemed really mean.
one of the graphic content warnings for this book being sexual content is really funny to me bc that ONE SCENE wasn't explicit at all its basically fade to black. anyways shout out to netgalley for an eARC of this book I loved it so much.

the plot of this book was so addictive it kept pulling me in even after things I disliked would make me put the book down.
I really liked the revenge plot actually but I feel like she blamed the wrong people. like she blamed her ex bsf but he was also a victim in that scenario, it's not like he joined in willingly.
things I liked: kendal and ariana, the other assassins
being supportive, Jayden being willing to kill his own brothers for her

things i disliked: the writing style (idk it just took me forever to get used to),
HER MOM CHEATING ON HER DAD ANS BEING THE REASON FOR THE TRAUMATIV EVENT, her not going to therapy like I get her reasoning but girly pls you're so traumatized you need so much help, the karate teacher teaching a child to kill and helping her kill her father like that didn't sit right with me, HIS FUCKIMG BROTHER WHAT THE HELL HE JERKED OFF TO WHAT!?!?!?!?!?

I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I've been doing nothing but reading this book for the past like four hours that's how obsessed I got with it. I love modern retellings of classic plays. this book is based off of twelfth night (its obvious based on the name) like she's the man. vi and jack are so cute together!!!!
i love that olivia was actively trying to get them together once she realizedshe couldnt be with jack
I want someone to love me like they love eachother.
i love the hidden/mistaken identity trope especially when they fall for eachother without knowing who the person really is but sometimes it can lead to third-act breakups (disgusting I hate them) and I'm so glad that this book had them communicate so it didn't lead to an extended break up.

I've been putting this off for a hot minute not on purpose but bc other things have come up so it's been a while since I read the book.

I liked the progression of the relationship - the friends to fake dating to actually dating. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers and for fake dating its no wonder I loved it. I also really liked how Eaton respected Sadie's boundaries and insecurities and those boundaries stayed in place for a while instead of being brushed off and her being told that's she beautiful either way and that magically ridding her of her insecurities.

I had so many icks with this book pls. the main one was the fucking exclamation marks bc they didn't match the vibe at all ans the second main one was him calling her "my juicy little berry" completely seriously not as a joke

omg i loved this book so much. it's not enemies to lovers per se bc they aren't enemies but they do hate eachother. it's not an instant moment where they reverse their feelings but a friends arc where their feelings slowly change. even tho a lot of this book is lighthearted it deals with a lot of heavier topics and I think it covers them really well. I just really love me a good hockey player x figure skater romance and this one doesn't end with her having to cut her career short bc of a pregnancy *cough* icebreaker *cough*

the beginning of this book was a little slow and honestly a little hard for me to get into but that might have been bc I was reading only like 2 or 3 minutes at a time but once their relationship really started to develop and toe the line from friends to lovers I was hooked and by then I was able to read for hour long periods so it worked out great. I love that you see them meet on page and you can see their transition from strangers to friends to lovers. the epilogue? 10/10 and I really wish the arc had a teaser in the teaser section and not just a header because I wanted to stay longer in that world. I think the writing style flowed well and I can't wait for it to come out so I can get a physical copy. favorite quote:
are you being stalked by a disgruntled, diseased chicken?
LORD ASSHOLES WIFE DIVORCING HIM AFTER THAT LAW HE WAS SO AGAINST PASSED WAS SUCH AMAZING KARMA

thank you to netgalley for providing me with an arc

this book was so wonderfully done, it's a little slow in the beginning but once I got into it I was really obsessed.
the way she slowly believed she was going insane had me thinking she might be too
I'm so invested in their story I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
if she insane? what happens with her powers? noahs powers?
the development of her relationships with people around her and her shifting relationships with her famiy members really made me love this book more.
