Five Broken Blades by Mai Corland

This book just wasn’t for me. The writing style is choppy and really brings you out of it. The units of measurement for time were also bizarre and something I could not stop focusing on. Points were driven home and obnoxious amount. The beginning really pulled me in, but around page 160 I started to struggle through. The story was a cool idea, the execution was rough. Life is too short to finish books that make you unhappy. An extra half star for how pretty the book is.

The cliffhanger is anxiety inducing and the information that has been revealed to us in this volume is heartbreaking. I will be waiting anxiously until next summer for any kind of relief.
