It’s a fun book but feels like a YA romantasy. The writing is a little simple and juvenile despite the characters being a little older and it being reasonably graphic with the violence. It’s all tension with no relief in terms of romance which I didn’t know going in and as it is an adult book that was marketed alongside things like ACOTAR and From Blood and Ash it made that factor quite disappointing as it isn’t comparable. The likeness to the hunger games is apt though.
