wanted to love the last book but it was deeply average.
Cordelia's character was so underwhelming in this book. The potential was endless, yet the Lilith storyline was so disappointing. Cordelia couldn't fight. that was the whole point? This book could've been shorter

Loved getting the inside view of Lestat's character.
Lestat explaining both Armand and Marius's life stories is so funny to me because i just kept questioning how accurate his telling of their stories are. Especially since he mentioned that Louis's recount of his actions in IWTV was very inacurrate. love the unreliable narrator aspect of the series.

interesting read. whether or not I liked Stephanie or her choices isn't really important to me on this one. It's an informative read. Not inspiring exactly, but interesting for sure.

sexy vampire slay

but seriously, the book was a pretty difficult read purely for the format. Anne Rice knows exactly what she was doing and even though ppl say sections involving Claudia were unnecessary, I whole heatedly disagree. There was no over sexualization of her, there was just intense thoughts and confusion from characters in the book regarding her nature of an immortal child. Makes you really contemplate your mortality.

The pacing was slower in some points and faster in other points depending on the chapter, but i personally think that the ending
seemed extremely rushed. Within the last 20 pages everything unravels about Calvin's life and his mother who is apparently alive and extremely wealthy and has apparently been tailing him since he was a child. Shoving that info out in the last 20 pages seemed like bad pacing or poor planning or maybe i'm just not into info dump endings.

made me sad

Hayes was loveable and Solene was easily one of the most real characters I've ever read. Her inner monologue was so realistic regarding the situation she found herself it. Devastatingly sad ending and knowing it was inevitable made it hurt for longer as the book came to an end. Post-read, there was a feeling of genuine loss and heartbreak
