This may be my favorite book yet by this author. Quincy survived a massacre out in the woods where she lost a lot of friends. She has moved on with her life and acting like she's over it. To those around her she appears to be happy and fine. There are two other girls who are also considered “final girls” and when one dies the other shows up supposedly to see how she's doing. Samantha survived a hotel massacre and has been off the grid for years. Quincy quickly befriends her and trusts her but secrets start to add up and things aren't quite what they seem.

I loved this book and it's my favorite from this author so far. There is a lot of twists that I did not see coming and there is a creepy vibe that I really enjoyed. Fans of thrillers and horror will love this book. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

This is the second book in this series. Corayne and her companions continue on the journey to close the open spindles and save the Ward. They have to fight their way across the ward to get to the open spindles and her uncle is trying to stop them and open new ones that they don’t know about.

I don’t want to say too much and spoil the book for others but just know that its full of action and adventure and is worth reading. I'm looking forward to reading the third book but will have to wait awhile for it to come out.

Janie and her boyfriend Max have a baby together and decide to move away from Brooklyn for a bit to spend time as a new family in a quieter setting. Janie is having trouble adjusting to being a new mother. She goes to bed one night and Max says he’ll take care of the baby so she can get some rest. The next day Max is missing and is wanted by the police in connection to a murder.

As the days go by Janie is confused and doesn’t know what to believe. She goes out to try to find out what happened that night and finds out Max has secrets that she doesn’t know about.

There is a twist at the end of the story that I definitely didn’t see coming. I loved the way motherhood is portrayed in a realistic way and how Janie comes to feel about the baby by the end. This was a fast read that I really enjoyed and would recommend to everyone especially mothers who will understand Janie and her feelings.

In this world there is a disease called the Fever that can leave anyone who catches it with some kind of magic. The king has people who search out anyone who has caught it and throws them in the dungeon.

Elspeth is a girl who lives in the woods with her aunt and uncle. She had to move there when she caught the Fever and had to hide it. The few people who knows she had it have no idea it left her with magic. She hides it very well since being caught would get her killed. Her life changes after she attends a party at the palace and gets caught up in a conspiracy that is very dangerous for all who are involved.

I like the premise of this book but found the magic system underwhelming. There is little world building which makes it hard for me to get into the story. I do like Elspeths character arc and I even like Nightmare! Maybe as the series progresses there will be more time to get to know these characters and understand the world better

This is another great entry in this series. The characters are getting more power and defending their world. A huge secret is revealed that could change everything.
