This is one of the only cozy mysteries I've been able to get through. I absolutely loved the characters, and I thought they were so funny. However, the ending sucked. They acted like something was a big reveal when you realize it pretty much from page one, and then it isn't solved. It leaves you on cliffhanger for the next book, which I won't be reading.

This book was super cute and at the beginning the sisters were sooo funny! I love sassy kids tbh. They became brats for a little bit but they got better again. I will say that since I know how to play chess & the terms, I think I liked this book better than if I did not understand it. I appreciate the close door romance, and I love a grumpy man. I just wish he was more grumpier/sarcastic towards her instead of basically falling in love the first time they met. Over all, cute book, but not my favorite of ali hazelwoods.

The drama was dramaing yall! This book was so messy and that made me enjoy it so much. Some of the things were obvious of course, but I liked how it was written. Super fast pace and made me very invested in the characters.

I feel like this book had a lot of potential to be great. But it dragged on, and I think it should have showed more of the action. If we could have seen the last night from the grandma's view or christopher's the ending would have been a lot cooler.
