“ Being yours does not make you mine “

This was a bittersweet conclusion to the series even though I was quite disappointed with how it ended.

I’m happy for the ending don’t get me wrong but there were some plot holes that needed to be answered. I’ve read the three different epilogues of the book and honestly that one epilogue from the Barnes and noble edition answered some questions than the whole book itself. It’s quite obvious that the next series will be connected to the world with the owl rate epilogue but I was still confused.

For me this third book was very rushed since the last book should conclude and explain the vague details that was unexplained from the other books but sadly this didn’t. I had to search other theories regarding the curse, the apple and supposed kiss to understand the meaning of it all together. To be honest, the fan theories are actually good considering some were base from hints from the caraval trilogy. I just didn’t expect that I had to do my own research regarding those concerns itself.

So here are my thoughts on those issues. I get that the curse gets twisted with meaning after some time but how can you explain the kiss between Eva and jacks? This was definitely the power of love but it was said that only those who do not love him get to live so I think from my understanding, when Donatella kissed Jacks, it broke the curse since it was supposed to be the one who doesn’t love him. So therefore when Eva and Jacks kissed, the curse was already broken by Donatella.

So when it comes to the apple it said that he bites it to not be driven by his desire to what he actually wants to do which is kiss Eva but I think it has more meaning to it.  So Jack is a fate and it was said that fates don’t or can’t have the ability to fall in love so my guess it that he started to become human but he simply cannot turn to a human all of a sudden. I’ve also read that the apple is a magic object and although I cannot explain the color meanings but I’ve read somewhere that an apple can represent the power of immortality. I’m not saying that the apple itself represents immortality once bitten but kind of like a vessel. Since it was said jacks said that he no longer needs it so I am assuming that when he decided he no longer needed the apples, his immortality of being a fate will diminish and he becomes human. So that is why on the epilogue he was described as not quite human boy.

Lastly I wished this was longer because I wanted more Jacks and Eva moments. All in all the best book in this trilogy was definitely tbona and I’m quite sad that this is the conclusion to their story. Hopefully I’ll get to see them  on some upcoming series.

It was never really that deep since the writing style is annoyingly frustrating to understand because it’s all just broken sentences. Did it seem interesting? It did, but it was too vague, too simple, no creativity and confusing to grasp the concept of the world itself.

I did however was curious to know what happens and I think my curiosity is the only thing that made the book bearable in my opinion. This was definitely overhyped plus the fantasy aspect is literally underwhelming in which it has too many plot holes and little to no character development with it being very predictable as well as the plot being thrown out the window because I literally did not not understand anything. It took me half of the book to grasp the whole plot of the book but oftentimes I was still confused. Although I do not think it was the worst book considering I can name a few books that are worst than this. What bothered me the most is the writing style like how can this book be approved to be published when for me it might have been an essay of broken sentences with it being practical which is the opposite of a fantasy book. This was straight up mediocre that can be found in wattpad. I think this story had potential but again, the writing style, world building and characters are little to nonexistent with depth.

Lastly, I can definitely say that if my curiosity is the one thing that made the book bearable it did mean that I was curious enough to slightly enjoy the book. It doesn’t mean I truly hate the book i just wanted to point out the obvious flaws of the book itself.

It is a magical, mysterious story involving political intrigue and antisemitism with a revolting atmosphere. A storyline filled with coded characters that represent the Jewish and Hungarian mythology history that follows tighter and sharper-honed points made by the main characters as the story progresses.

This simply alone represents the true enemies-to-lovers trope. Full of angst, hate, and tension, no other main characters I've read that truly hate and despise one another. Both the character's beliefs are shaped by their tribe and that is how their misconceptions and prejudice set them apart. Both character dynamics are intricately crafted with flaws that overall shape their trope.

All I can is that this is a refreshing read which I thoroughly enjoyed. Although the ending felt mellow and wished it was longer.

An interesting and intriguing aspect of characters that are different magical beings solving a mystery about a ghost and death itself. A story with different perspectives about the plot itself and the lives of both the magical beings and how it is all interconnected.

All I can say is that I don't think this author is for me, I've read a book from her before which is the One for My Enemy, and didn't like it. I don't think her writing style is for me and I've struggled to be immersed with her stories. The plot itself is interesting and some moments caught my curiosity but most of the time, I didn't care for the said characters maybe for the reason that there were too many POVs and I was confused most of the time. The only thing I like is the illustrations in her books and how some chapters have it then the beginning and end of the pages have it.
