'Salem's Lot by Stephen King
Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.

It was a slog because the same events in exact order (fear, conversation, bite, compulsion, death, missing body) kept happening. So by the time the fifth victim is targeted, my eyelids grew heavy. I ended up skipping to the last 20 pages and don’t believe I missed out on anything.

Eugenides composes an exhilarating narrative that doesn’t deviate from human blunder and bupkis. The book’s sober insights portrays the history of a Greek family that leaves the reader drunk from the experience. This incestuous tale has me truly believing “never say never”

The inner conflicts of the characters were repetitive. It just became boring. The chemistry between the two was told more than shown.
