Would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend reading / listening to "David Copperfield" before this. Makes the re-telling so much more interesting. Not that the story can't stand on its own, but DAMN you feel the layers. Beautifully told. Loved it.

Amazing to learn about the Syrian civil war and the harsh conditions faced by refugees as well as those who choose to stay behind - but not my favourite. Contrived in places.
