I started reading this book because it popped up on NetGalley, I was curious about the cover and the synopsis. I didn't know the author @hollykerr.author but it's always a good time to discover new authors.
This book pushed me out of my comfort zone. I mean, as a cliché (and as a reality), second chances are not my thing. But this book has changed my mind. The character of Lady Camille as the main character, is the best thing about the book. At first when I read the first part of the story of how they met, I almost cried because of how beautiful and furtive it all was.

This book brings a new vision, which is not seen so much in the Royals stories. A King who was in a heavy metal band?Also the incorporation of social networking into the royals in a very "natural" way.He even managed to include a reality show in the plot, this book has everything I like.
"Royal Rumble" is the beginning of a saga, I can't wait to see what happens in the next book (it's not officially out yet, it's published on February 6th). I hope to know more about Prince Gunners and Lyra in the second book.

🇬🇧 This story is a picture book, explaining and exemplifying different ways in which external assumptions depending on the country can affect bad luck (Mrs. Mala Suerte). The examples of the assumptions and how the main character Miguel can get rid of Mala Suerte or create his own luck, is done in a very attractive way with the wonderful illustrations of Carlos Velez Aguilera. Miguel listens to all the advice given to him by his mother, his grandmother, etc... although at first he does not listen to his grandmother with the recommendation not to "not open the umbrella inside the house as it is bad luck", referring to the fact that in England in the 18th century, the mechanism of umbrellas was not very safe, because opening them could hurt or break nearby objects.
It is also very interesting that at the end of the illustrated novel there is a section on both common assumptions around the world and assumptions from different countries.
This story is inspiring for children who at first get it all wrong, but little by little discover how to improve and change things.
Expressions and words to point out, depending on the target audience.
Depending on the target audience (referring to the country), in Spain the expression "reprobar" is not used, the expression "Suspender" is used, referring to "Luego, suspendo el examen". On the other hand, in Latin America, the expression "reprobar" is used. Another expression that influences the previous aspect is "en puntas de pie" used in Latin America, in Spain it would be "De punttillas". Another word used in Latin America is "Banco de suplentes", in Spain the word "banquillo" is used. Just as the word "mijo" in Spain would be "Hijo" (son) referring to the grandson.
🇪🇸 Esta historia es un libro ilustrado, explica y ejemplifica distintas formas de como las suposiciones externas dependiendo el país pueden afectar a la mala suerte (Sra. Mala Suerte). Los ejemplos de las suposiciones y de como el protagonista Miguel pude librarse de la Mala Suerte o crear su propia suerte, lo hace de una manera muy atractiva con las maravillosas ilustraciones de Carlos Velez Aguilera. Miguel hace caso a todos los consejos que le da su Madre, su abuela ect… aunque en un principio no haga caso a su abuela con la recomendación de no “No abrir el paraguas dentro de casa que da mala suerte”, haciendo referencia a que en Inglaterra en el siglo XVIII, el mecanismo de los paraguas no era muy seguro, porque al abrirlos se podían hacer daño o romper objetos cercanos.
También es muy interesante que al final de la novela ilustrada exista un apartado de suposiciones tanto comunes en todo el mundo, como suposiciones de diferentes países.
Esta historia es inspiradora para los niños que en un principio les sale todo mal, pero poco a poco descubren la forma de como mejorar y cambiar las cosas.
