I’m truly reminded of Kai with this song. 🎶 He is stupidly and madly falling for Paedyn. It gives me shivers reading his POV and I can’t help but groan and gasp his name in multiple emotions lololol

In the kingdom of Ilya, where only the empowered Elites belong, Paedyn Gray, an Ordinary posing as a Psychic, finds herself thrown into the Purging Trials after saving one of Ilya's princes. With no powers of her own, Paedyn must navigate the competition and keep her true identity hidden from the prince she has feelings for.

Where should I start with this book? Oh dear Lord!

Let me begin by saying that "Powerless" by Lauren Roberts is an absolute gem of a book. The enemies-to-lovers trope is masterfully executed, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as they navigate the complex relationship between the two main characters.

And crap, Paedyn and Kai’s POV, especially Kai!! Paedyn’s 😍😍 oh my goodness! We love the strong willed female character 💕💕 but Kai oh dear lord. Have you ever wondered the swirling thoughts of unconsciously and slowly falling in love with someone? Kai’s POV says it all 🤭

The Book of Tea Classic Edition by Kakuzō Okakura

A short read but it was all worth it, it's the cup of humanity.

"The Philosophy of Tea is not mere aestheticism in the ordinary acceptance of the term, for it expresses conjointly with ethics and religion our whole point of view about man and nature. It is hygiene, for it enforces cleanliness; it is economics, for it shows comfort in simplicity rather than in the complex and costly; it's moral geometry, inasmuch as it defines our sense of proportion to the universe. It represents the true spirit of Eastern democracy by making all its votaries aristocrats in taste."

"The masters are immortal, for their loves and fears live in us over and over again. It is rather the soul than the hand, the man that the technique, which appeals to us, -- the more human the call the deeper is our response."

"They want the costly, not the refined; the fashionable, not the beautiful. To the masses, contemplation of illustrated periodicals, the worthy product of their own industrialism, would give more digestible food for artistic enjoyment than the early Italians or the Ashikaga masters, whom they pretend to admire."

“I could feel it in everything suddenly. The way he touched me, the energy coming off him, the look in his eyes. And then I realized that I had always felt it. This was his quiet. The silence that I couldn’t decipher. It was me.”

I felt him smile, even though I wasn't looking at him. "Are you going to be able to focus on this task at hand, Doctor?" he teased, nuzzling his nose into my hair. "Because I'm going to need your undivided attention, and it seems like you're a little preoccupied," he whispered.

Butterflies again.

I’m sold the moment this scene happened. And i’m absolutely convinced this would be one of the great reads in my 2024 ✨

It never occurred to me in my whole life, whole freaking life that someone would bring a freaking ring light, RING LIGHT for D PICS 🤣 the scene made me roll on my bed so hard 🤣🤣🤣
