Thank you so much to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for this copy in exchange of an honest review.
This is such a feel-good manga where we meet Chiharu, Kiyotaka and their respective dogs, the exact opposite of themselves. Chiharu’s dog Tsubuchan is a dark giant: a Rottweiler, but despite his size and reputation as a dangerous breed, he is just a shy and sweet looking scaredy-cat. Kiyotaka’s dog, Monjuro, is a tiny white Pomeranian, whose personality is outgoing and daring. Both Chiharu and Kiyotaka meet in more than one instance, and they decide to hang out together so their dogs also get to befriend each other. What they don’t know is that they might be the one’s to befriend each other faster than their dogs…and maybe some other feelings might arise from these casual meetings.
The drawing style in this is absolutely adorable, I cannot wait to start making reaction stickers with the doggies faces because they are so expressive. The story, at least until now, does not get very deep into the characters backgrounds, their likings and worries; but as an introductory volume I feel like it gives you the perfect first impression on both to make you attached to them and leaving you wanting to know more. The start of their “romance” (as this is not yet developed, only some cute interaction which will make your heart melt) is also quite interesting as it is clear that both of them need in their life a person like the other. Chiharu needs someone to calm her and understand her independent self, while Kiyotaka could use some more energy and fun which Chiharu can guarantee with her clumsy self.
Overall, I would recommend it if you want a really easy to read and follow story which will make you laugh and want to get a dog only to fall in love at the dog park!

Hopeless: Tocando el cielo by Colleen Hoover

Lets go yall.

Well...that was a whole new experience wow. I’m not going to dive into details cause i really don’t think it’s necessary but instead ill just give my general opinion.
It is a very toxic book. The amount of craziness in there is...too much sometimes. The thing is, you already know what to expect when starting the book because the sinopsis warns you so i cant blame it for that. But oh boy idk if there’s any trigger warnings somewhere but there should be.
It was not a bad reading tho, maybe i would say that i felt it was tooo long and it repeated itself again and again regarding the plot and i found myself struggling at the very end of the book. Maybe if it was like...150(? aprox. pages less it would be much more light to finish.
Anyway, the characters were...well...their own breed. They’re all crazy af but you could see the back story of each one which helps to understand them a little bit more. Kenzo was one of my favs as he was the big softie since the beginning, Ryder too as i always tend to go for the leaders in every fcking way, and he was pretty cute too; Garrett was much harder to understand (at least from my point of view) but i get why he’s the way he is and he develops at some point of the story so that was great actually. And finally we have Diesel. I have literally no words for how INSANE this man was. It made me a bit sick sometimes honestly but again, what to expect when the premise was that. I surprised myself cause i ended up liking Roxxane more than I had expected to. She was just such a brat from the beginning i loved seeing her make the others mad it was the funniest thing ever i swear.
Again, the plot didnt really have much sense, the author wanted to leave a good message at the end of the book which was okay good but the book itself, not much to learn from.
All these things aside, if you like twisted situations, smut every fcking where and toxic polyamorous(??? relationships, go ahead and read it. It could be fun. But really take a good look at the trigger warnings before you start so as not to find yourself being really uncomfortable while reading it.
PD: (ive never read the word SNARL that many times in my whole life holy fck the author really like that mf word, and some more but wow that was so exaggerated)

this was actually so good??? i didnt know what to really expect because imma be honest here i was just looking for a wlw with idk smutty tones because i’ve never read one before but THE PLOT IN THIS ONE??? it was kinda difficult to totally understand in the first idk 20 episodes but it got better and clearer and i loved the characters. the enemies to lover trope is obviously here and maam hyewon won this category. despite her plot, yoosun is such a beautifully written character with so many traumas and ptsd you really get an insight of why she decided to do all of this. hyewon as i said, marvellous im a sucker for cold outside but warm inside characters and she won my heart. sekyung is the strongest of them all and her determination is very important for the plot and the development of the other characters she’s just a sweetheart. the villan actually made a lot of sense and she had good reasons to be like she was so, good coherence there.
really surprised me here huh, totally recommend (there are actually quite some sexual scenes so idk be careful with that if you don’t like it/ makes you uncomfortable… they r pretty well done tho and the plot is actually worth it so yeah).
