this is not a good book. its brought far down with transphobia and its horrible handling of romance throughout. HOWEVER; i enjoyed it. its a really good representation of an overworked depressed teenager and the mental facility in the book reflected the one i was put into. i would not recommend this book, as its portrayals of transness are so horrific i considered putting it down, but if you read this book and enjoyed it then yeah, i see why.

I picked up this book from a local community free book box, and never before have I become so genuinely invested in a random choice without even a cover to speak of. I originally picked up the book with the intention to use it as a craft project-- to hollow it out and create a box, but after reading the premise I became interested. I love this book, I loved reading Hancock's descriptions of her life in-between snippets about Eleanor, and the book has inspired me to become more connected to myself and my fears. I don't usually ready biographies, but I regret nothing. Wonderful book.
