"The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness"
This was a good police procedural thriller with lots of twists and turns along the way. The plot was intriguing and I was invested enough to make me keep on reading. I liked the different POVs and I'm always into having a POV from the villain as it makes for a much more interesting read. I liked that we got to see the killers childhood history because it really helped the reader get a better insight into their mind. However, they were two things that bothered me with this read. The first being the FMC, I had problems connecting with her. The second being how obvious it was who the killer was. I had the book figured out at around the 75% mark which isn't bad but it completely took away from the shock value for me. Overall, it was a good read and I also liked the ending, despite the fact that I wasn't blown away. It didn't wrap up too quickly and as a reader I like seeing the detectives put the final nail in the coffin when it comes to wrapping up the case. I give this one 3.75 stars. Thank you to Netgalley, the Author and Bookouture for my eARC copy of this read. All opinions are 100% my own.
