definitely a powerful and moving story on the realities of the empire and the secrets they keep and ideas they push forward to keep their regime. the art style was beautiful and i truly felt for Aiza and what she was going through. some
more closure would have been nice, especially regarding her family but it was a beautiful story to read about. i would recommend if you want to support palestinian authors/learn more!

a beautiful look into palestinian folklore and culture to educate myself!
as with any short story collection, some were more to my taste than others - the 2nd and 3rd stories struck something in me, they were so intensely beautiful and painful, i found myself struck by only a slither of pain the people of palestine must be facing right now, especially after the destruction of their biggest library. these 2 definitely impacted me the most, but the rest of the stories were all well written and i would highly recommend!

Thank you to the author for sending me an arc in return for an honest review!

what an amazing debut - the characters, world building, plot and relationships are all so well done and kept me hooked the entire time. a multi-pov fantasy tale with element based magic, complex relationships, deaths to be solved and past emotions brought back to life!! yes please i need the sequel now because THAT ENDING?!?? very excited to see where the relationships progress and how our group of rulers solve what is going on

i loved the setting and descriptions of the book so much i really felt like i was there. the banter between inez and whit is sweet but the ending massively threw me off and i didn’t realise this was going to be a duology/series so im intrigued to see where it goes but im not sure how i feel about the ending itself and the twist it made. it was super easy to read the book and have a good time!
