this was cute, i read it in just under 2 hours! i read it for the first time years ago so this was a re-read. definitely a bit young for me. but neil gaimans writing is so beautiful that i didn't mind too much. anyways, yeah, 3.5 stars easily.

i had to read this for my book club and  now i suddenly want to read every lisa jewell book she has out??? i'm OBSESSED!! this was incredibly amazing, dark, and addictive (like i read almost the whole thing in one day after i got back home from vacation). once i started it, it was so difficult to put down. the pacing and reveals hit different, they were SO good. my heart was RACING and i was CRYING. like wHEN I TELL YOU THESE TWISTS AND TURNS HAD MY JAW ON THE FLOOR LIKE OMFG!! anyways, this story is about the disappearance of ellie mack, but it's not just about what happened to her, but also the how and the why, as well as the aftermath that follows. this story spans over a decade, and it's worth every second, every miniscule detail is so important to the story it's insane. this one was definitely painful, but it was truly brilliant. pls read this fr.
