If you are looking for a book with plot and steam and enemies to lovers and a hot book boyfriend named Rhys then yes you are in the right place. This also includes royals, real juicy scenes that put you in a chokehold when reading and great power dynamics. Let’s just say I’m a bit obsessed!!

This is not a light read. It covers a variety of heavy topics that is an emotional character driven coming-of-age story. I typically don’t go for these type of novels but this was so realistic that I felt for each person because they go through so much.
I enjoyed hearing the different POV’s of Morgan, a non-binary teen navigating their life with their dad Julian who has Autism and alcoholic mom Zoe who abandoned both and is trying to come back into their lives. We also have Brigid who has been with Zoe on and off for years while also connecting with Julian online.
A lot is going on but I think everything is so well connected
I will say this: CoHo knows how to write. Somehow she has taken a book that based on plot alone I don’t enjoy but the writing has a hold on me (how do you do this? I need to know!!)
Any who- we follow Tate(a nurse) who moves in with her brother (pilot) and across the hallway lives Miles (another pilot). There is intensity and passion but Miles doesn’t do commitment or love and Tate (thinks) she doesn’t want that.
And while this may be a love story, that isn’t the initial love story. There’s more love within the love and it happens 6 years ago for Mile which brings forth the title and the brooding/mysterious guy next door. Let’s just say both loves aren’t pretty.
I don’t want to spoil it but let’s just say ugly love is a mess which leads to the creation of a 26 year old reading this in bed crying while her husband just stares at her asking what he did (when in reality it was CoHo)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars) Physical copy (lots of tabbing 💙) 318 pages 📄 Borrow or buy?: BUY (even if the plot doesn’t interest you lol)
Today, please recount the time a book made me really feel everything all at once. If you have been sleeping 💤 on Seven Days in June, I am here to say wake up 🚨 and go read this right now. And just to give you a little peak here is one of many quotes in the library book I wanted to mark up (but didn’t!):
At times, it was hard to remember I was reading a romance book because this was so much more. It was about love, heartbreak and passion (and not just for others but also for ourselves). This was such a raw look into what it means to actually be in love and have to deal with realistic issues (including motherhood, growing, and healing).
Every day that passed, left you longing for more time, knowing that there would never be enough.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Physical 336 pages Borrow or buy: buy! (Thank me later)
With this book I can tell you exactly how I felt: meh 🫤
It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great (too high expectations 🤔) I can say that I was thoroughly annoyed with Claire towards the end which made me put this down multiple times. (No spoilers here but please dm me if you want to know why!)
I needed zest 🍊 I needed spice 🌶 I needed something! I felt left wanting way more…
I can say I enjoyed seeing how the relationship between Delilah and her step-sister Astrid developed over the course of the book. And the good accidental dip in the lake (IYKYK)
Would I recommend giving it a go: yes 👍🏼
Would I recommend a need to buy: leaving that one up to you!
3.5 stars ⭐️ 390 pages 📄 Spice level: 2.5 🌶 Type: physical book 📖 Buy or borrow: borrow
in short I loved it and everyone should read if you are looking for world building, diversifying, action packed read.
Long version: The detail to each character, storyline, landscape, and region was so well thought out and full of depth. Lots of longing and complicated situations left you on the edge of your seat. Found family and watching the dynamics of power grow and change among the group. And the way Ifueko mixes new world building with deep rooted culture.
