But with her sister’s life on the line, Ophelia can’t afford to turn him away. She just needs to ignore the overwhelming, dark attraction drawing them closer and closer together.

This is a great read for spooky season. This book had everything. Forbidden romance spice, gothic atmosphere and fight to the death games in a haunted house. I initially wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this but I couldn't have been more wrong. I loved this can't wait for book 2 ☺️

1978. When teenager Rina Pine is dumped by her mother in the village of Sorrow Spring, and forced to live with her aunt, Agatha Pine, she doesn’t think things can get any worse. But when a child goes missing and a young mother is killed, Rina is drawn into the dark and sinister truth flowing through the sacred waters that give the place its name. Rina is about to learn what it truly means to be a daughter of Sorrow Spring.

I had such high hopes for this book but it just fell a little flat for me. I didn't connect with the characters and wasn't drawn in by the plot. I felt it was too long and repetitive in parts and dragged out. This isn't a bad book just not for me.

Jeanie is new in town taking over her Aunt's Pumpkin Spice Cafe in a small town of Dream Harbor.
Logan is the local farmer who isn't one for being social with others,
Will Jeanie's happy-go-lucky attitude win over the grumpy-but-gorgeous Logan.

This is a perfect quick Autumn read. I flew through this in one evening. Yes it's like a cheesy hallmark movie but isn't that what Autumn and Winter is all about. This book has all the autumn vibes, romance, humour  and a little bit of spice thrown in too.

Charley has moved to a boarding school on a remote island to escape the life she has at home. Olive is her roommate and best friend they are both bond over their love of horror movies. Charley finds herself in what could be her own personal horror movie when her year group starts getting murdered but what's worse for Charley is she can see the dead class mates in all the gory forms of how they died. Can Charley and Olive figure out who the killer is and who will be the next victim.

This book was so much fun I loved it. I was hooked from the very beginning to the end and I couldn't put it down. This was a fast paced YA thriller / mystery story with a lot of humour thrown in along with some gory scenes and descriptions. There are a lot of references to horror movies which I loved and made this book such a fun read. The twist was so unexpected 😱 To also find out there will be a sequel I CAN'T WAIT !! Would definitely recommend.

The Island by Sarah Goodwin

Jody, Ari, and Carla have won  tickets to a music festival. When they arrive they realise it isn't the glitzy festival they were  expecting disappointed but determined to make the most of the trip they join the party. Then a shocking discovery on day three turns the festival into a nightmare, and they find themselves trapped on the island with no escape.

I am a big fan of Sarah Goodwin but this book just didn't quite hit for me the first 50% was quite boring and dragged on I almost DNF. The second half of the book did pick up and I was invested in the story. I did find this to be a creepy atmospheric read and even being at a festival surrounded by people I got the feeling I get from an isolated setting read. I will still definitely read anything else Sarah Goodwin writes even though this one was a bit of a let downfor me.

4 friends get an invite to a friend's hen party weekend. A friend they bullied in school and haven't seen for years. They are suspicious but an all expenses paid trip to a private island is too good to pass up so they all go. They soon discover they underestimated Poppy as secrets are revealed their trip soon becomes a nightmare.

This is a great revenge thriller mean girl story. I did guess what the biggest twist was going to be  very early but this didn't spoil my enjoyment of the story. It is a little slow at the start but once it gets going it was non stop to the end. Would recommend giving it a go.
