By about half way through I'd completely lost track of who anyone was, what was going on or why I should care. I think I was meant to be so wowed by the poetry and imagery of it all that that didn't matter, but I'm just not wired that way. When I finished it, I had the feeling of having looked at some words rather than actually read a book. Despite having put it down not two minutes ago, I already couldn't tell you a thing about it. I simply did not get on with it at all.

A clever idea, executed well. The atmosphere and aesthetic of a womens youth boxing tournament was particularly vivid, and the characters were all distinct and storied to the point where I genuinely wanted to know who won each bout. It’s the most interested I’ve ever been in boxing, I'll say that for it.
