Unabashedly weird, opaque, and indulgent. Clearly someone has seen the Tuvix episode of Star Trek Voyager too many times. I mean all of this as a compliment.

Hey so uh, what the fuck??????????? Happy fucking Halloween I guess.

(I figured out pretty much what was going on long before it was officially revealed, but still. The deconstructed narrative is giving Nobel Prize for Literature, the shoehorned tumblr meme references are giving barely-edited NaNoWriMo project.)

Quick little story from Lyra's world, feels kinda like a teaser for the Book of Dust. Didn't like that it implies Seafina Pekkala is not gay.

I was very entertained, but even more than that I was amused by just how much sense it makes that my sibling loves this book. It's basically a DnD campaign where lesbian Benedick and Beatrice do the Hunger Games. Incredible.

Baby fell asleep right away and my wife and I both cried through the whole book. So simple yet just deeply sweet.

Exactly the kind of book to have around when raising kids in an antizionist Jewish house. If you're a kid, it's just the story of two kids who are friends, and if you're an adult, it's a touching commentary on the power of everyday solidarity between Jews and Muslims. Plus, recipes! And cute art! Shana Tovah and Ramadan Mubarak to Moe and Mo.

This has to be a kink thing, right?

Book was clearly intended to be sung but there is no indication of a tune. Still cute.
