This guide offers great techniques on how to show character, with great exercises and techniques to figure out your character so you can bring in to light their perspective and personality. I thought I knew a lot about this subject but the exercises in the book will help me dig deeper and really bring my character to life. The techniques mentioned also help bring out and develop voice, which is so important for all writers today. A definite recommend!

AMAZING!!

I thought this would be a heavy read because of the subject matter but it has so many funny and tender parts. It's a story about family and community and being true to yourself. I loved Starr's family and I wanted to hang out with them. They were just so REAL. I was sad when it ended because I just wanted more. I hope there's a sequel and we can follow Starr and Seven as they grow into adulthood.
