Happy Place by Emily Henry

Did not finish book.
I read this (started but never finished) back in February of this year. Originally, i read it and was really enjoying it. But once i got like 60% through the book, i got to know it's an adult one and has spice. (luckily i hadn't encountered any spice scenes upto the point i read) I'll be honest here ... Emily Henry's writing is unbelievably a-ma-zing. The way she expresses emotions and the things people have fought their way through is so delicate, i don't think i have the honour or capability to explain how beautiful it is. Really, i am being brutally honest. I personally love writing, have been writing since i was a kid, and basically everyone who's known me since then urges me to write more, which i want to, and i will. But if i write, or try to write, a review describing how Emily Henry writes, i will be a failure. So i won't do it. Perhaps, if her books were young adult and had no spice, then maybe, she would be one of my favourite authors. But i don't think that'll happen anytime soon, unfortunately.
P.S. - i know this book is on my "dnf" shelf (obviously, i dnf'd it) but i thought it deserved an explanation as to why. if you want to read a meaningful book but don't mind the spice, Emily Henry is the right person to go to.
P.P.S. - from tomorrow i'll be writing my reviews on the more recent books i read where i only gave my ratings. sorry about that, i've been busy lately but should be relatively free tomorrow. the first book i'll be reviewing is Twin Crowns and i'll work my way onwards to Heartless Hunter. these are all my recent reads, so when you see my reviews, no, i'm not re-reading them, i'm actually just giving them the reviews they deserve.

4 stars is actually a good rating! i honestly picked this up bcs of the cover and the idea of old assassins, but i really thoroughly enjoyed this! there are some bits of content which are slightly hard to understand, but i'd enjoy reading more work from this author
A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee
3.0
3 stars it is. loved the vibe, the aesthetic, the location - you know, the feels. loved the writing especially, really amazing. i just didnt like the romance part of it (but then again, thats just me) and the fact that there's no actual plot to keep me glued to the pages. otherwise, it's a really enjoyable book!
