Fear Street The Beginning: The New Girl; The Surprise Party; The Overnight; Missing by R.L. Stine

Each book needs to be reviewed separately in this book, if that makes sense. The 4 books in this compendium are: The New Girl, The Surprise Party, The Overnight and Missing.

-The New Girl: I did not enjoy this one and almost did not finish this book due to this one. The main character could have never dealt with what occurred if he just left Anna alone. He really inserted himself into this story and I was just not a huge fan of the storyline itself.

-The Surprise Party: It was a decently engaging and entertaining story. I enjoyed it.

-The Overnight: The twist at the end was one I did not expect. The story was entertaining.

-Missing: It was fine. The whole “actually we’re FBI agents because cops are always the good guys and get the last laugh” trope is so overdone and it has been done way better in other YA books quite frankly.

This book was okay. I enjoyed it enough that I am going to be reading the next book. I thought Black was a great character and I love Hagrid more and more as I read these books!

This book made me so many emotions. Firstly, the writing in this book is excellent! The way the author seamlessly writes the past and present  together is amazing. Secondly, the characters were all flawed in a variety of ways but were humanized throughout the book. Even with Nick, I could empathize with him over a bad home life and bullying. Each character was just trying to cope with being a teenager and something unforgivable occurred and the story discusses it perfectly. Lastly, I just enjoyed this book so much that the time flew by. I highly recommend this book.

Wow! This book is obviously a not a book you get your relationship ideals from because the dynamic is not healthy at all in the beginning and in the end because of past dynamics. The writing was good and the sexy scenes were very well written. I will be reading the next book in this series. I didn’t regret buying this book.

I want to start by saying this trilogy was my favorite in middle school and got me into reading. I’m 26 now and I am obviously not in the target audience for this book now. But it took me weeks to get through it, I started listening to the book the day I found out there was going to be a new movie so it took me awhile to do so.

Do not read this book. The concept is very interesting and the story was fine but this book had typos. It is completely unprofessional for a publisher to release a book with typos. I was originally going to give this book 1.5 stars for the LGBTQ+ representation, which is excellent, but with how many typos and sentences that did not make any sense unless I replaced a word is unforgivable, which is why i gave it 1 att. I would suggest reading anything else as I will never be reading another book by this author.

WOW! That’s really all I can say for this book. The ending made me cry so much. I had to force myself to put this book down and sleep. This book is well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The book was fine. I really appreciate how much time she spent talking about the victims and how their lives. These stories are not entertainment, these are real lives. I really liked that Ann Rule took the time to humanize the victims because others have not.

so many errors in writing and so many issues. the story was good and i would have given it 2 stars if it were actually written well. i wasted my money on this and should have bought the other book i was looking at. a waste of time and money, do not read this.
