If I'd read this when I was 14 it would've been 5 stars (it has the cadence of very well written fan iction at times). Glad I finally got around to reading this, I now feel like I can have an opinion on this book. For all the problems I have with this book, it's such a potent piece of art, not one without flaws or blind spots but a book that I'm sure will have a major re examination in the future. It's not a book many would recommend to others, but honestly the writing style is so accessible and so evocative that I honestly think that more people should read it even if it's only to have an opinion on it!
